In the Okinawan language (Uchinaaguchi), salt is called "maasu."
On this site, we offer a wide variety of maasu packed with the rich minerals of Okinawa's deep blue sea, as well as sweets and seasonings made with maasu.

While so-called common table salt (refined salt with non-salt components removed) is almost entirely (99.5% or more) sodium, Okinawan salt made from seawater (natural salt) retains minerals derived from seawater (such as magnesium, calcium, and potassium).It is sometimes called "arashio" (coarse salt) meaning unrefined raw salt.
These minerals temper the saltiness, creating a complex flavor with subtle sweetness and umami.

Since it naturally reduces sodium intake compared to using the same amount of refined salt, it can also have a salt-reducing effect.
All of these salts are delicious ingredients in themselves, so please try them with dishes where the taste of salt can be directly enjoyed, such as onigiri (rice balls), yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), yakiniku (grilled meat), tempura, and grilled fish.

Basically, as a food product that does not have an expiration or best-before date and does not degrade or spoil, bulk purchases are recommended. (Some products do have a best-before date.)
