Collection: Island Chili Pepper (Koregusu) Related Products
We've selected products made with island chili, a specialty of Okinawa Prefecture, including Koregusu (a spicy seasoning made by steeping island chilies in awamori), which is essential for Okinawa soba, as well as spicy and extra-spicy seasonings, snacks, and sweets.
Island chili is a small chili pepper grown in Okinawa and Kyushu. In Okinawan dialect, this island chili is originally called "Koregusu."
Although it has a cute, rounded appearance, its spiciness (Scoville scale) is more than double that of "Takanotsume" (hawk's claw chili). Please be very careful when using it as a seasoning.
